Pho-travel – Fundraiser for Orphans Against Aids

Australia's first fundraiser for Orphans Against Aids was a huge success raising $950.  Held in one of Melbourne's city laneways, the event was a true urban charity experience.  Performances from local hip hop emcees and DJs created and kept the vibe of the night positive and playful.  It was beautiful to see people feeling so good because they were supporting something so worthwhile.  By the night's end, the door people, organizers, and performers were content that we had collectively done what we set out to achieve: to increase awareness around the AIDS orphan issue, to raise money for OAA, and to have fun!

Photography will be displayed as a backdrop to our fine emcees, host Mike Justice and SOS band, Pez (our festival man) and Low Budget, as well as, Djs Fokus, Kilo and Mr Moonshine. Other prizes and surprises will be given out across the night.  This event is about Melbournians paying it forward by being in the right place at the right time.  Be part of a changing world and step into the lightness of being.

Thembanathi and The Unitarian Universalist Global AIDS Coalition Invite You to Join Us to honor Sister Priscilla

Sunday, September 28
4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Unitarian Universalist Church of Eugene
477 E 40th Ave

When she learned that victims of AIDS were dying in the sugar plantations of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, a region ravaged by the pandemic, Sister Priscilla Dlamini, a Catholic nun and nurse, converted old stables into a 40-bed hospice. She also began programs that today provide food, shelter, home-based care, and day care for 1965 orphans and vulnerable children from 774 families. She has received many awards for her work, was a finalist for South Africa’s woman of the year, and has been a frequent feature in international news.

Please help us welcome to Eugene this remarkable person who has achieved so much against such great odds.
